Explain this result
PPF interest is calculated on the lowest balance between the 5th and the end of each month, and credited once a year. If you deposit by 5 April, the whole deposit earns interest for the year, so each year: closing balance = (opening balance + deposit) × (1 + 7.10%).
Depositing ₹1,50,000 a year for 15 years gives ₹40,68,209. PPF is EEE: deposits qualify for 80C (old regime), and interest and maturity are tax-free.
