Editorial Policy

This policy explains how SumSense content is researched, reviewed and kept up to date.

1. Primary sources first

We rely on the law and the regulator: India Code (indiacode.nic.in), the Reserve Bank of India (rbi.org.in), the Income Tax Department (incometax.gov.in), CBIC, EPFO, Ministry of Finance notifications, and each bank’s own rate page. We do not cite other blogs as authority.

2. Written for people, checked by experts

Pages are written in plain English with worked examples in rupees and reviewed by the SumSense Editorial Team before publication. Each reviewed page shows the date of the last review. Our pages are general information: for more details, readers should consult a lawyer or a subject-matter expert.

3. Keeping pages current

  • Tax pages are updated after the Union Budget and any Finance Act change.
  • Rate pages are checked after every RBI monetary policy meeting and each quarterly small-savings rate notification.
  • Every page is re-checked at least once a quarter.
  • Every change to a rate, slab or rule is logged on our Rates & Rules Update Log.

4. Use of AI tools

We may use software, including AI tools, to help draft or format content. No page is published without human review, real examples, and a check against primary sources.

5. Advertising and affiliates

Advertisers and affiliate partners do not decide what we write or how products are ranked. Sponsored listings are always labelled “Sponsored”. See our affiliate disclosure.

6. Corrections

If you find an error, please tell us. We correct factual errors promptly and note significant corrections on the page.
