About SumSense

SumSense helps Indian earners and borrowers get clear answers about their money – what they owe, what they will earn, and what the law lets them do about it.

Why we built SumSense

India has plenty of calculators. Most stop at a number. But the number is rarely the end of the question. A borrower who works out an EMI also wants to know whether prepaying is worth it. A person whose cheque bounced needs more than an interest figure – they need to know the 30-day deadline for sending a legal notice.

SumSense joins these steps into one journey: calculate, compare, and claim what is yours.

What makes us different

  • Money Rights. Tools and guides for cheque bounce, recovery harassment, RBI Ombudsman complaints, CIBIL disputes and consumer cases.
  • Reviewed and dated. Pages are reviewed by the SumSense Editorial Team, show when they were last reviewed, and list the primary sources used.
  • Explains, not just calculates. Every result comes with a plain-English “what this means”, the formula, and the next step.
  • Built for Indian life. Lakh and crore formatting, shorthand like “50L”, WhatsApp sharing and Budget-day tax updates.
  • Private by design. Calculations run in your browser. We do not store what you type.

Who runs SumSense

SumSense is run by the SumSense Editorial Team, who research, write and review every page against primary sources. Read more about our editorial team.

SumSense gives general information only. For more details, do consult a lawyer or a subject-matter expert.

How we make money

The tools are free. We earn from advertising, from affiliate links on some comparison pages, and from connecting readers who ask for legal help with independent lawyers. None of this changes the numbers a calculator shows. Read our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy.
